Talking About Race, Racism, Trauma, & Reconciliation

The purpose of this session in servuce of the XYZ Do More Together  Summit (2020)  was to provide context and training on the psychological and historical underpinnings of race, racism, and racial trauma. As leaders, our ability to have conversations around racial reconciliation can be elevated when we understand these foundations. Join this session to hear experts in the field with vast experience examining and teaching others how these issues present within the therapy space. The panelists will take a current and historical perspective for understanding the experiences and impact of race, racism, and racial trauma on People of Color. The presenters aim to assist attendees of different racial backgrounds with identifying how they might respond to these traumatic occurrences. Multilevel approaches to healing will be discussed. Two diversity CE credits are available from the DC Psychological Association.
